ACCUTANE RECALL! Roche Holding AG, the manufacturer of the acne drug commonly know as Accutane, (isotretinoin) announced on June 26, 2009, that they were recalling the product from the market. More than 5,000 lawsuits have been filed on behalf of victims who have sustained catastrophic injuries caused by the drug. To date more than $30 million dollars has been awarded to victims.
Usage:
Accutane also known by its generic name isotretinoin, was developed by Hoffmann-La Roche Inc. for the treatment of severe cystic (nodular) acne. It has also been sold by other drug companies as Roaccutane, Amnesteem, Claravis and Sotret. Accutane was approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in 1982.
