British insurers attempt to deny Pleural Plaque asbestos exposure claims
British insurers are attempting to overturn a law which will allow victims of asbestos exposure with pleural plaques to claim compensation. The insurers claim the condition doesn’t cause pain or symptoms.
The purpose of the law is that the condition increases ones chance of getting mesothelioma.
There are approx 2000-3000 cases of mesothelioma diagnosed in the US every year and the numbers are expected to climb.
